MixRadio set about creating an email campaign to reach out to it's international current and potential customers. Using the extensive database (and before GDPR was in place!) we generated a template which was built using Salesforce software to utilise data analytics.
UI
Using Salesforce data analytics we were able to gain insight to how many customers opened and clicked through (or not) to targeted content based on personalistion of the music app.
At the start of any project I always begin with understanding competitors approaches to the problem. I identify good and bad points and iron out the things which I believe could work better.
Although a UI piece, marketing were heavily involved in the copy, content and branded assets.
The intial plan and design on sending out 3 emails over the first week of sign-up.
These are the visuals for the first 3 emails to be sent out to all new customers. The intention was to welcome then highlight 2 features within the music app that specific customer has not yet used so they would stay engaged.
The emails are built with a templated format and inject the relevant data into the components. Emails still use HTML4 so are limited in what tech can be used.
There was much emphasis on gaining new customers but also retaining them.
• Email 1 was sent to 290,000 customers
• 25% opened the email (about 22% is considered good).
• 3.4% click rate (2-4% considered good).
• 5.6% bounce rate (>5 considered bad).
This demonstrates the mark-up I produced - ready to hand over to the Salesforce developers.
